Jesus raised His hand to say goodbye to me and said, “I’m ready” to the sun. Up to that point, I hadn’t seen any light, just fragments of light. The sun’s presence was an impression or feeling I had. “Bev, I really have to go now, but there is one thing I want to leave with you: There is only one Way.”
Just then, an enormous beam of light shot out from the sun and enveloped him. It seemed to transform Him into His heavenly body. His clothes remained the same, but He appeared to be transparent. Still, I was too fascinated by the brightness of the sun and its beam to take it all in. The beam from the sun was so bright that it penetrated the walls of the room and caused them to disappear, so I could clearly see outside into the yard and into the sky above. It was as if the walls were no longer there. I could see the sun hovering some distance above, just over the gate near the skinny ackee tree. The beam flooded the entire area from the sun to the room.
Sitting up in bed, I watched as Jesus ascended into Heaven in the beam. He was travelling so fast, I won’t even attempt to describe or calculate His speed, as I had never imagined that rate of movement was possible. At times it seemed as if He and the light were travelling in slow motion, but the increasing height of the sun as it ascended in the sky made me realize they were moving way too fast for my brain to compute. I sat on the bed, looking up into the skies, eyes and mouth open wide in amazement, thinking, I had no idea the sky was so high. He continued to ascend, ever upward, until I could see the sun, the beam, and Jesus going up, up, up all the way into the heavens, which were constantly parting upward beyond my wildest imagination. The end of the beam remained over the gate and the ackee tree.
As I watched Jesus ascend higher and higher, I realized that I might never have another encounter with Him or be so happy again in this life. I took quick stock of my life and decided I did not have much to gain by staying here on this planet. I wondered if I could still catch up with Jesus and go home with Him. The light disappeared and the walls of the room returned. I jumped off the bed and made a run for the door.
